Twenty-One Essential Basics – Part One
The main concept of the game is to be given cards totaling up to twenty-one. Every gambler is assigned two cards. When a black jack player is handed a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been dealt a soft hand. When the blackjack player is dealt no Ace cards it is referred to as a hard hand. Once the cards have been given to every player at the blackjack table, including the dealer, each player is provided the opportunity to make one of six choices:
Taking another card (Hit): When a player announces "hit me" the croupier will give him another card, if the adding of that card causes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the blackjack player will have busted and that’s the end of the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty one the blackjack player will be the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty-one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you have been given: If a blackjack player is satisfied with the cards they will stand. Once this has happened the croupier will display his/her cards and the black jack player who has accumulated 21 or the closet to 21 will acquire a win.
Doubling Down: A black jack player may request to double down which increases the wager by one hundred percent they have placed. As soon as you’ve taken this action you can only be given one more card. The details of doubling down are normally out lined by the blackjack table or casino rules so prior to gambling be certain you are comfortable with the house established rules. If you’re wagering at an online betting house this is usually quite easy.
